Background

MDC is the high-affinity ligand for CCR4. Secreted by tumor-associated macrophages and dendritic cells, CCL22 recruits immunosuppressive CCR4+ Tregs into the tumor microenvironment. This chemokine axis dampens anti-tumor immunity, and its blockade aims to exclude Tregs and unleash effector T-cell responses.
