Background

The Mafa-A1*06301/B2M/RM9 (RPKVPLRTM) complex is a well-characterized MHC class I tetramer used in non-human primate models. This complex consists of the cynomolgus macaque MHC allele Mafa-A1*06301, beta-2-microglobulin, and the immunodominant RM9 peptide derived from SIV Nef protein. It serves as a critical research tool for tracking SIV-specific CD8+ T-cell responses in AIDS vaccine studies, enabling ex vivo detection and functional assessment of antigen-specific T cells in macaques.
